I’m a Software Engineer, who spent far too much time on my phone during my student years. If homework were difficult, or if I had decided to go for a run but it was cold and dark outside, I would far too often procrastinate. I often had to cram before exams, and I frequently thought of how my life would be if I could have controlled this better.
Therefore, I set out to build a application-based shield against very addictive apps and websites. I call this Axion. It is still early, but I believe that the technology we use to defend ourselves from addiction should be of the same sophistication as the technology trying to make us dependent – and for that to be true, there is a long way to go.
